This wonderful wood-turned bowl was cut from a fir burl that had a knot growing through it. Burls are a by-product of old growth logging, and generally are ground up and returned to the soil. Out of 5 burls started, generally only 2 or 3 are good enough to become a finished bowl. All of Roger's bowls are finished with 5 coats of polyurethane finish to meet the Canadian foodsafe guidelines. Bowls can be used for dry goods. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth... Do not soak in water or put in the dishwasher.
